Access UNEE is a partnership of the five universities in the North East of England (Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland, and Teesside), working together to transform access and participation in higher education for young people by delivering activity collaboratively.

To contribute to a North East region where there is opportunity for all to access the higher education and skills they need to succeed.
Our Mission
To transform and improve access and participation in higher education for young people by developing and delivering collaborative activity.
We provide a range of free-in school workshops on a variety of topics linked to higher education progression for students in Key Stages 2-5. These sessions are delivered by a team of recent graduates and current undergraduates.
We are committed to providing additional support for students who are care-experienced or young carers. Our targeted programmes for these groups provide immersive experiences of higher education linked to a learner’s age
and stage.
This work is part of the wider collaboration between the North East institutions through Universities for North East England (UNEE). This collaboration sees the five universities united in ambition and place-based purpose, while remaining committed to breaking down barriers to opportunity.
