Key Stage 2
The Key Stage 2 guide is designed to highlight the many exciting opportunities that higher education has to offer. By beginning discussions about higher education early, it is hoped that we can address common misconceptions and encourage young people to view higher education as a viable and realistic option for them. Introducing your pupils to the importance of making decisions, thinking about their own skills, and considering their future aspirations, the KS2 guide is designed to get your pupils thinking about their futures.
The Key Stage 2 guide contains six modules comprised of lesson plans, presentations and interactive activities, all designed to support and develop young people’s understanding and decision making when considering their future options.
Along with a Teacher’s Guide, a Student Workbook is also provided. Digital copies of the resources, including handouts, games and presentations can be found by registering as a teacher. The online resources will be regularly updated with new and exciting tools to further engage your pupils. Hard copies are available upon request.
Key Stage 4
The Key Stage 4 guide is designed to highlight the many exciting opportunities that higher education has to offer. By beginning discussions about higher education early, it is hoped that we can address common misconceptions and encourage young people to view higher education as a viable and realistic option for them. The programme explores what the North East region has to offer young people, the options available to young people at 18 and higher education, with specific sessions on student finance, researching courses and applying to university.
Each session is made up of interactive elements, group work and class discussions, with opportunities to ask questions throughout. These sessions aim to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to make them successful in their future endeavours.
The KS4 Teacher’s Guide contains seven modules comprised of lesson plans, and assembly and tutorial ideas, all designed to support and inform young people’s choices when considering their future options. The online resources will be regularly updated with new and exciting tools to further engage your students. Digital copies of the resources can be found by registering as a teacher. Hard copies are available upon request.
